Karin Kneffel, Face to Face
  • Karin Kneffel, Face to Face
  • March 3, 2025 - May 31, 2025
  • Kunstverein Freunde aktueller Kunst
    3 March – 23 May, 2025

„In our exhibition “Face to Face”, we are giving an exemplary insight into Kneffel's work. On display will be canvases and works on paper in various sizes, which essentially present all aspects of her painting. Karin Kneffel is a representative of hyperrealism in Germany. She is known for her almost old-masterly painting style and for the oversized presentation of her often still-life-like motifs, arranged in sections, which break up familiar and established perspectives. She became known for paintings in which fruits are immensely enlarged and extremely close-focused, staged with intense colors and precise plasticity.“ www.freunde-aktueller-kunst.de

KATHARINA FRITSCH RECEIVES KAISERRING OF THE CITY OF GOSLAR
  • KATHARINA FRITSCH RECEIVES KAISERRING OF THE CITY OF GOSLAR
  • January 15, 2025 - January 15, 2025
  •

We congratulate the artist Katharina Fritsch on being awarded the Kaiserring of the city of Goslar, one of the most important international awards for modern art (like Henry Moore, Richard Serra, Sigmar Polke and Gerhard Richter, among others, before her). The artist will be awarded the prize in October 2025 as part of her exhibition at the Mönchehaus Museum Goslar.

She had already been awarded the Golden Lion for her life's work and the Grand Culture Prize of the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Rheinland in 2022. There is no doubt that she is one of the most important sculptors of our time and she has been for quite a long time now.

Katharina Fritsch was born in Essen, Germany, in 1956 and lives and works in Düsseldorf and Wuppertal.
